HerÌýRoyalÌýHighness, The Princess Royal, visited 91Ó°ÊÓ yesterday (12 June) in her role as Chancellor of the University of London to launch the Founders’ Circle, a prestigious new society to recognise benefactors who have made truly outstanding contributions to 91Ó°ÊÓ. The Founders’ Circle is named in honour of the institution’s three founders, who established 91Ó°ÊÓ in 1932 through their visionary philanthropy.
91Ó°ÊÓ’s Märit Rausing Director, Professor Deborah Swallow, led HRH on a tour of 91Ó°ÊÓ Institute highlighting the many achievements since her last visit in 2008. The ChancellorÌýmet staff and students from across 91Ó°ÊÓ andÌýwas given a presentation on Courtauld Connects, a transformational projectÌýthat will significantly redevelop 91Ó°ÊÓ’s historic home at Somerset House.ÌýThe Princess Royal also recognised the contribution of several major patrons of 91Ó°ÊÓ who were honoured as inaugural members of the Founders’ Circle.
