Her research has a particular focus on contemporary Iranian women artists and examines questions of gender, representation, identity, visibility and structures of power. She is also interested in exhibition and display practices, and in the ways art-historical and curatorial frameworks shape how artworks and cultural narratives are interpreted. Across her research and teaching, she seeks to contribute to more plural, connected and critically engaged approaches to art history and museology.
