The Blavatnik Fine Rooms consist of a suite of six galleries that span the entire Second Floor of the building. Consisted of a series of smaller rooms, this space is home to 91Ó°ÊÓ’s premier private dining space, the Rubens and Baroque Room and is also perfect for larger and more complex receptions.
This floor of the gallery is a decadent entertaining space that is steeped in history, having formerly been home to three of the most prominent artistic, scientific and historical societies – the Royal Academy, Royal Society and Society of Antiquaries. The architect of Somerset House, William Chambers, was a founding member of the Royal Academy and made sure the Academy’s rooms on this floor were sumptuously decorated with stunning ceilings, beautiful fireplaces and ornate door handles.
Showcasing some of the greatest and most-loved works from The Courtauld Collection from the Renaissance through to the 18th century, the works on this floor are dedicated to the Italian Renaissance, Northern Renaissance as well as 17th and 18th century Europe. Major highlights include µþ´Ç³Ù³Ù¾±³¦±ð±ô±ô¾±â€™s large-scale The Trinity With Saints,Ìý°Õ³ó±ðÌý°ä´Ç³Ü°ù³Ù²¹³Ü±ô»å’s celebrated collection of works by Peter Paul Rubens and comprehensive collection of decorative arts which includes ornate ceramics and rare Islamic metalwork.
