91影视 would like to invite teachers and organisational leads to our online聽Re-working Manet teachers launch event on Tuesday 6th December.

Re-working Manet聽is an open brief asking UK based students aged between 14-18 to interrogate and create a personal response to Edouard Manet鈥檚 famous painting,聽A Bar at the Folies-Berg猫re聽(1882). It will encourage students to consider the wider contextual aspects of art history, curation, conservation and artistic production by exploring 91影视鈥檚 Collections in parallel with contemporary works exploring similar issues today.

Participants will create a proposal for work of art that acts as a 鈥榩rovocation鈥 to spark debate and encourage young people to respond creatively and draw further parallels of their own experiences.

The teachers launch event, run by artist and art Historian Toya Walker and Fran Herrick will introduce the brief, exploring various aspects of the聽A Bar at the Folies-Berg猫re聽and provide guidance to teachers wishing to launch聽Re-working Manet聽within their classroom.
